At Quantum, customer service isn’t just a department—it’s a company-wide philosophy. Every interaction, every product innovation, and every strategic decision revolves around a singular principle: if you don’t take care of your customers, someone else will.

This relentless focus on the customer experience is embedded into the DNA of Quantum, shaping everything from product development to daily operations. Few people embody this mindset more than Erin Wolov, Quantum’s Chief Operating Officer.

Having started in the healthcare division before expanding into food, Erin has played a critical role in shaping the company’s growth, spearheading new industries, and ensuring Quantum remains at the forefront of industry innovation. In this exclusive interview, Erin shares insights into Quantum’s culture, its commitment to problem-solving, and how the company continues to evolve while staying true to its core values.

Q&A with Erin Wolov, COO of Quantum Storage Systems and Quantum Foodservice

Tell us about your background and how you found your way to Quantum.

I studied economics and law, originally intending to become a lawyer. One of Quantum’s owners is a distant cousin, and when I mentioned that I was considering a move to the U.S., he invited me to meet the team. That’s how I was introduced, initially, to the healthcare side. I was fascinated by how they worked alongside equipment planners to optimize storage systems. I started in sales and project management for healthcare and, over time, saw an opportunity to expand into food, supermarket and even electronics, and we built infrastructure in those markets quickly.

Quantum has grown significantly, from bins to shelving and now even trash cans. What’s driving this expansion?

What makes Quantum unique is our relentless pursuit of solving problems. Our customers tell us what they need, and we respond—fast. For example, we kept hearing from customers that they were frustrated with the available options for trash cans. Within eight months, we developed an entirely new product line: The Crusader. We didn’t just enter the category; we reimagined the buying experience. That’s what Quantum does—we listen, innovate, and execute.

You’ve worked across multiple Quantum divisions. What’s the common thread that connects them all?

Customer service is our North Star. Whether it’s industrial storage, medical, food, janitorial, or custom moldings, our mission is to ensure every client interaction ends with a problem solved. We invest in inventory, people, automation, and innovation to make that happen. Quantum isn’t about just selling products—we’re about creating long-term solutions that help businesses operate more efficiently.

Quantum is known for its strong company culture. What role has that played in its success?

Our culture is deeply rooted in hard work, ingenuity, and relationships. Quantum was founded by humble, grassroots people, and that work ethic—combined with a focus on relationship-driven business—runs through every level of the company. We don’t just aim for transactional success; we build long-term partnerships. The people at Quantum truly love what they do, and that energy is contagious.

Looking ahead, how do you see Quantum continuing to evolve?

We’re just scratching the surface in all the industries we service. Each of these has so much potential for innovation. Additionally, I think AI and standardization will play a huge role in optimizing storage solutions, especially in large-scale environments like hospitals and restaurants. There’s a real opportunity to streamline operations and drive efficiency through smart data-driven solutions.

On a more personal note—do you have a junk drawer?

I do! And, honestly, it’s due for a cleaning. I love candy, so I have little secret candy stashes everywhere. I tell myself I’ll forget about them, but then I find them later like a little surprise. As for my workspace—no labels, but I know exactly where everything is!

Erin, thanks for telling us about your background and how you contribute to the success of the Quantum team. Whether you’re a foodservice operator, healthcare facility, or industrial business, it's clear that relentless commitment to the customer experience contributes to the Quantum difference.
